During the summer students work on leading-edge research projects with access to all the resources available to UD researchers including equipment, databases and conferences.
In the last year (2018), 23 students from different institutions participated in the program. The good news is that several participants have already returned to the United States, and the program expects that some more may be part of this group for the late 2020 and early 2021 intake.
The program seeks students who wish to broaden their horizons and therefore invites interested students to apply to areas outside their usual field of work. Accepted fields of study are chemistry, biochemistry, physics, astronomy, electrical and computer engineering, computer science, civil and environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, and industrial engineering.

This year, the University of Delaware is looking to attract the best potential Ph.D. candidates from South America to research persons in Delaware from July 1st to August 31st, 2021. Through this program, the participants will gain unique access to our ongoing research programs & capabilities and get to know the faculty members, providing an advantage when applying for admission to one of their graduate programs. This program is for outstanding undergraduate students in their final years of study, Faculty Members with Master's degrees, and senior-level Master's degree students near graduation interested in pursuing Ph.D. studies abroad.
